As reported by Venturebeat at the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 launch event in New York City today, Adobe unveiled and demonstrated an Adobe Photoshop CC app completely ported for use on mobile touchscreens.
As I previously discussed before, I reckoned we were due some further technological tweaks to both software and hardware before we started seeing more useful design software for mobile technology, and it looks like the change has started with a bit of a push from…Microsoft? A bit of a surprise, considering Microsoft’s track record on innovation from the past several years. Perhaps this is their bid to improve interest in their Surface touchscreen product line.
Regardless of motivation, it’s a good step in the direction of more portable design software, and it shows developers are now finally turning their attention back to solving the problems with tablet-based interfaces and design.
