Let’s be honest. It’s been a very strange month. Over the course of 4 weeks, the world has rapidly gone into shutdown due to the Coronavirus. Earlier this week the British Prime Minister announced a semi-official lockdown for the UK (in so many words). Many (but not all) jewellery suppliers and retailers are now shut down, and just about everyone is keeping their connection to the world mainly restricted to digital means. Even major jewellery brands are doing what they can to help the worldwide effort to reassure people and help fight the virus.
Funnily enough, for those of us jewellers who primarily use CAD this really doesn’t make that much of a difference to our primary methods of working. As several of my students have recently said to me: “Thank God for CAD!”
With that in mind, now that we have much more time on our hands, why not take this opportunity to work on building your jewellery CAD skills?
Digital Jewellery CAD Training Options
To this end, allow me to present some jewellery CAD training options for you:
- There are numerous free online jewellery CAD tutorials out there on YouTube. I’ve made a list of them in my jewellery CAD software section. All of these tutorials are ones I’ve vetted myself for quality.
- I’ve now reopened my online bespoke CAD training, for both one-to-one classes as well as small groups.
- There are a few paid providers out there for online jewellery CAD video courses, which I’ve linked to in this FAQ page comparing types of jewellery CAD training.
If you’re not sure where to start, or which jewellery CAD training options are best suited for what you’d like to learn, contact me and I’ll be happy to answer any questions.
