RhinoArtisan – Remote Bespoke Design With Clients Run via Cloud Computing

29 December, 2025

The software developers 2Shapes have created a Rhino reskin plug-in called RhinoArtisan. With even a brief look at this software, it seems the developers have been very busy over the past several years. And for the first time in many years, it seems we may have a plausible contender for taking RhinoGold’s forsaken mantle as the best mid-range cost jewellery CAD program.

A plug-in in three parts

If RhinoArtisan had only been made as just a suite of jewellery-specific tools and new interface, it would still be an upgrade on old RhinoGold. Their fully integrated Rhino SubD and pave suite are worth the price of admission on their own.

But it also comes with several extensions, each of which points to new ways of thinking about what a jewellery CAD tool can do:

Loom is the rendering suite attached to the software. They claim it is AI-enhanced, but true to form with most corporate uses of the term AI, what they actually mean by that is a bit fuzzy.

Showcase provides an interactive customer-facing visual library for your CAD models. It reminds me more than a little bit of what 2Shapes used to look like, although the real time rendering technology has certainly come a long way in five years.

Canvas lets your salespeople take your CAD models onto the shop floor. The web-based tool allows users to change several aspects of a model in front of the client. It behaves like a simpler form of Countersketch, or iJewel.

And finally there is also the rather impressive AI assistant. I’ll let the video speak for itself:

This use of AI looks like potentially an interesting and novel way they approach the user interface. I just hope the model generated by the software is still editable.

Overall, for around £2600 (or £1750 if you already own Rhino), that seems rather good value for money.

Between this, iJewel3D, and Jewelbeetle, it does feel like we’re now seeing a kind of renaissance in jewellery CAD software development!
